We are officially past the one-month mark of school and have already finished Week 5! 🎉 There has been so much learning, growing, and excitement happening at Woods already, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!

🎃 Costume Day
Get those costumes ready! Costume Day will be Friday, October 23rd. Students will have the opportunity to wear costumes to school.

📚 Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books is being offered this year for students in grades 3–8!
A packet was sent home earlier this week. If your child would like to participate, permission slips are due Monday, October 5th.

📊 Attention Middle School Families: Mid-Quarter Check-In
We have officially reached the mid-quarter point of Quarter 1! This is a great time for families to take a few minutes to check their student’s current progress in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
Checking in at mid-quarter is a great way to get a pulse on how your student is doing in their classes, particularly in their core subject areas.
We encourage families to:
📖 Review current grades and assignments together.
🎉 Celebrate what is going well.
💬 Talk about any areas that may need additional attention.
📝 Encourage students to make adjustments or develop a plan before the end of the quarter.
🙋 Remind students that it’s always okay to ask for help or support.
Your middle school student will be bringing home a copy of our Family Quick Reference Guide with simple steps for accessing grades and assignments in Infinite Campus. You can also find that information below.

Yes, we’re still thinking about Christmas! 🎅
Planning is underway for our annual Christmas Parade, and we are still in need of a trailer that the school could borrow.
If you have a trailer available for us to use, please contact the front office. We appreciate your help in keeping this fun Woods tradition going!
Veterans Day Wall of Honor
We are beginning to plan our Veterans Day celebrations and would like to honor the veterans in our Woods community.
We are asking families to send us copies of pictures of their loved ones who have served so we can create a special Wall of Honor at school.
