spirit

Hello Woods Families,

Happy Homecoming Week! We had great attendance for each dress up day followed by an exciting pep assembly. Congrats to 2nd, 4th, and 8th grade for winning the spirit stick for most participation! These classrooms now get to display the spirit stick in their classroom for the remaining school year. Tonight is the Homecoming Parade and game day, Go Badgers!

Here are a few important things to know:

  1. Up first, we received the BEST compliment from Delavan Lanes following the WPTG bowling night. The manager stated that our kids and families were kind, respectful, and helpful! Excellent job Wildcats on representing our school the Woods Way!

  2. Many thanks to Mr. Wegrzyn for preparing our band for the Badger Homecoming Pregame tonight! The show starts at 6:45pm.

  3. This week the  WPTG gave our students the opportunity to name our mascot. The votes are in and have been tallied, let’s welcome Willy the Wildcat!

  4. The pick-up/drop off line is moving right along. Reminder, if you are first in line at pick-up, feel free to move the rope NO EARLIER than 3:10 and ONLY if there are NO children on the playground, then proceed into the circle.

  5. Do you have some hand gardening tools that you do not use? The FCS class would be grateful to take them off your hands. The FCS class is starting its food unit right now. Along with the food unit, they are going to incorporate the gardening beds at Woods school.

  6. WPTG Spotlight: Next Woods PTG meeting is 10/8 at 6:30 in the school library. If you are interested in helping with the school auction, the first meeting is taking place beforehand at 5:30. Sticker sale order forms are due 10/8.

  7. Looking ahead:

  1. October 22nd - Annual Board Meeting at 5pm; regular meeting to immediately follow in the school library

  2. Don’t forget that Friday October 24th is Trunk-or-Treat in the Woods School Parking Lot. Please sign up here if you haven’t already done so. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409054DA4A729A4F49-59173141-woods

  3. October 24th - Middle School Dance 6-8:30pm

  4. October 30th and 31st - No School

Each week we will share one joke, fun fact, or a drawing from our very own students. Be on the lookout to see if your student is featured!

This week’s submission comes from Mabi in 4th grade:

Fun fact: Did you know that foxes are part of the dog family, not the cat family?

So next time you spot a fox, remember - it may look catlike, but it’s really just a distant cousin of man’s best friend.

Have a safe Homecoming weekend!
