The WPTG is a non-profit organization that raises money to support arts, sports, and cultural events and activities for our children, and helps purchase materials and equipment for the classrooms. In addition, we help with the Pilgrim Dinner, a Woods' tradition, held in November; Teacher Appreciation Week in May; and Field Day festivities in June.
Among the programs we have been able to fund are the Visiting Authors program, which brought in children's book authors from the Midwest for a day; the ski program at Grand Geneva, which gives the children an opportunity to learn to ski and snowboard as part of their physical fitness education; and numerous other activities.
The WPTG board is made up of Kelly Pankonin, president; Jeri Klausen, vice-president; Gina Ochsenschlager, secretary; Ed and Cathy Brzinski, co-treasurers; and Tammi Wrzesinski, committee chariperson.
The WPTG's biggest fundraisers each year are the Woods School Silent Auction, in the school gym in March (last year the auction raised about $5,000) and Market Day, held throughout the school year.
We offer many opportunities to get involved, at school and with the fundraisers. Please check out our volunteers page. We know your time is valuable and appreciate any help you can offer.
Please attend our monthly meetings. Attending these meetings is a good way to find out firsthand about our goals and ideas, and to meet other families. We welcome your comments, concerns and suggestionsl.
