Track & Field News

track.jpg The Woods School Track program consists of all students in the fifth through eighth grades.  All students will need to wear normal running shoes, shorts, and a Woods School track shirt.  Warm-ups and light jackets would be helpful on cold days.  Remember to bring a water bottle!

Students will sign up for events during the first week of May.  You can do as many events as you like.  I keep individual points, as well as team scores.  You will also earn a grade for the fourth quarter based on your level of participation.

ALL MEETS ARE HELD AT BADGER HIGH SCHOOL

TRACK TRIALS

We will have a trial meet in May.  The top three runners in the 100 and 200 advance.  We can have as many 400, 800, and 1600 meter runners as possible.

Good sportsmanship is expected.  Follow the directions of the teachers and any parent that is assisting at the meet.

PARENT ASSISTANTS NEEDED

We will need parents to assist with the softball throw, long jump pits, and shot put. We need markers and recorders for these field events. Some of you have been involved with your second or third child, so you know the routine and I do appreciate the fact we have so many supporting parents. Thank you! You also know that these are some of the most exciting times for these kids with everyone cheering on the runners. Only you can make this happen! If you can help out with the field events at any of the meets, please contact emailButton.pngMr. Lofy. Thank you.
