WOODS SCHOOL

Board of Education Meeting

December 9, 2008 Minutes

7:00 p.m.

1. Roll Call – President Kulik called the meeting to order at 7:09 PM. Board Members Leahy & Lowell were in attendance along with Administrator Cook and Admin/Teacher Rep Green.

2. Approve November Minutes – Kulik moved for approval, Leahy seconded – all approved

3. Old Business A. None

4. New Business President Kulik thanked Craig and the Board for moving the meeting schedule to accommodate her work schedule.

A. Budget – Review and Approve Disbursements – Leahy moved for approval, Kulik seconded – all approved

B. Notice of School Board Election – Craig updated all that candidates have three ways of registering for the election – on-line, at the school office, or contacting the Board Clerk. None papers have been filed as of yet. Deadline is 1/6/09.

C. Federal IDEA Flow through Budget - $17,262 will be received as our share of reimbursement for Special Needed position.

D. 403(b) Regulations and Plan – Presentation – Ms. Green put in a great deal of effort developing a 403(b) Compliant Retirement Plan for presentation and review by the Board. The Board elected to follow Ms. Green’s recommendation and initiate a program of joint management between the School and a specific provider provided this meets all legal requirements. A finalized plan must be in place buy the first payroll in January of ‘09. The First Reading of the proposed plan was completed with possible addendums to be considered at a later date.
