We met Mr. Z. this week with his zipping zippers! We also found out that there are not too many words that begin with Z!

boy_studying.gifWe have finished chapter 2 in our math books and we will be starting chapter 3 next week. We have a very short week next week what with theatre trips and conferences, so I have decided not to meet another letter person on Monday. We have some unfinished items to take care of.

Please help your child find 50 items to bring in before Friday. I would like to see everyone bring in and count a collection of 50 items. Our sock hop will be Friday before early dismissal at 11:20am.

Don’t forget that there is no class for Kindergarten on Thursday so that I can fit in all my conferences.

I would also like to remind everyone that each child should have a pair of gym shoes that stay at school. With the wetter weather now here it is important to have clean, dry shoes for gym class.

Also please make sure your child has at least a light jacket. The mornings are cold and it is not too warm out at recess. Everyone goes out every day and should be dressed for the weather at 10:10, not what it will be in the afternoon. Thank you.

Please be on time on Tuesday as the bus is leaving promptly at 8:40a.m.

Have a great weekend. It is supposed to be warm!

Kindergarten Curriculum

Kindergarten uses the Letter People program.   We meet one new person each week and learn the name and the sound.

Handwriting
We also have a "Let's Write" book (also the Letter People) and this is where we practice our handwriting.
Reading
We have a "Let's Read" collection of books.  After we have read the book in our group a take home copy is sent home.  Please read this with your child andn save for future use.
