2nd Grade News
Thank you to all of you who attended Conferences. We had a terrific turn-out and it always means so much to me to have your student see how much you support their education. Always feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns you might have that arise on a daily basis.
We have been enjoying our introductions to creative writing and putting paragraphs together. We are currently writing about a personal event from our past. The students continue to amaze me with their ability to put the information together and form a paragraph all about the same topic. Please watch for those to come home – they are true treasures!
We are learning lots about the trip the Pilgrims took on the Mayflower and the way they cooperated with the Native Americans. I am impressed with the questions of interest and the prior knowledge that the students have. They seem to be completely shocked by the lack of living conveniences. Some students have even admitted that it would be a real challenge to live during that particular time in our history. Thank you to all of you for contributing items, money, or time to our Pilgrim Dinner. It was a great way for us to see how our Woods School Community works together and for us to begin our study of Thanksgiving.
“Go Woods School Wildcats!” The 2nd Grade did such a fantastic job showing their school spirit during Spirit Week. I am thrilled with us winning the Spirit Stick and even more proud of the respectful way our class handled the win. I saw and heard terrific, friendly acknowledgement of our win and also congratulations to other grades for their spirit, too! Way to go, 2nd Grade! I am so proud of all of you!
Have a Happy Holiday Season and watch for the fun ways we celebrate different traditions from around the World.
