6th Grade:
The Sixth Grade is wrapping up our regional studies of the USA, and everyone should be expert on the geography of the states and their capitals. We now have an understanding of the history and culture of each U.S region, and how different we can be in different parts of our country. Throughout March, we will investigate how different our country is—culturally, economically, geographically, and governmentally—from countries in Asia.
7th Grade:
Seventh Graders have been comparing government structures of the past to that of our own. It’s amazing how much the Greeks and Romans influence our constitution! Our current event studies will stick with the theme of democracy and focus on our own government and the upcoming election. Our historical investigations will revolve around the Romans. A big empire means a big investigation, so plan on hearing about the Romans for awhile!
8th Grade:
Eighth graders are plugging away at the Constitution and are beginning to understand our civic rights and duties as Americans. We’ve been using our knowledge of the Constitution to make connections and debate modern day issues, and the roles each branch of government plays. Next on the agenda will be how our government and nation develops with the new Constitution in place. We have a lot to cover, and the pace of our class is about to pick up!
