Philosophy of Education

As a teacher, my goal is to inspire students to be positive role models and value their education. I believe every child can learn, therefore I create a learning environment that is safe and nurturing. Lessons are age appropriate and created to be interesting, exciting, and hands on.

What parents can expect this year in your class

Fifth grade is a year filled with many activities. In Reading, we focus on several different novel units. Each unit is an in depth study complete with study guides, projects, and papers. Math encompasses many different units. These units range from double and triple digit multiplication to add and subtracting fractions. In Social Studies, the first part of the school year focuses on the study of each region of the United States. This study culminates with a state research project. Science is filled with many hands on activities and experiments that coincide with the units.
